FOUNDER OF RESOORP, VIC CHHABRIA RUNS AN ESTATE AGENT BUSINESS IN ST JOHNS WOOD THAT IS ALL ABOUT PROVIDING A PERSONAL And BESpOKE SERVICE
FOR ITS CUSTOMERS.
I firmly believe in service and although my client may be the seller, I also have a duty to ensure that the buyers requirements are fulfilled.
In my opinion, a successful agent is one who finds that happy medium and this is what Rescorp attempts to achieve every day,” explains Vic Chhabria, founder of boutique St Johns Wood estate agents, Rescorp.
Dynamic and enthusiastic about the property industry, Vic successfully sold his share in a telecoms company and started Rescorp in 2006 with the aim of providing a unique and personal estate agency service in the affluent area of Londons St Johns Wood. The boutique company provides a service which aspires to simplify and quicken the process of buying or selling a property and Vics approachable manner assists in making each customers purchase or sale an enjoyable and memorable experience.“Most agents sell a property and then they move on to the next one.” Whilst this is also true for Vic, he tries not to treat each trade as a commodity and instead tries to truly comprehend the real people who are either buying and selling. “One needs to understand the client or applicant fully in order to successfully reach a point that then transpires into a deal”
For Vic his dream of starting his own property business kick started in conjunction with the recession and he used those two years cleverly to gain invaluable ground experience working with local agents offering properties to international contacts who wished to take advantage of a weak sterling and the softened housing market.
Working from his home in St Johns Wood, Vic runs the company with little overheads and believes that he has something to offer that no other estate agent can. “I can devote myself to the client and I suppose that is something I have the privilege of because of the way I work as opposed to someone working in a 9 to 5 corporate establishment,” says Vic.
“I work in a very different manner and am passionate about what I do, trying to establish what my clients wants and needs are and then of course working hard to fulfil them.”
Vic takes daily walks in and around the high street in his quest for match – making property with person in an outside – the – box work philosophy. “There has been many a time when I have found a property that hasnt even emerged on the scene which matches a clients requirements, thus giving me a first – mover advantage in concluding a transaction.”
Despite his family owning vast property interests in India, Vic has stayed true to his roots, which has in turn has worked in his favour.
Born in St Marys Hospital, Abbey Road was home not only to The Beatles but bore the first residence to Vic too until six years old, after which his family moved to the suburbs. Soon enough though Vic returned to St Johns Wood strengthening his fathers sentiment that his roots are firmly sown in the luscious greenery of Regents Park.
“I know where practically every street leads and I know what is available in most of the apartment blocks that dominate the area. That perhaps makes me a little bit eccentric but I guess that is part of knowing ones business. I guess they say home is where the heart is and St Johns Wood has been my home ever since life began.”
